FAQs
Q: I'd like to apply for Autumn 2012 under the late application deadline, but the Graduate School application online will not allow me to select Autumn 2012. It says applications are closed. How do I apply under the late application deadline?
The Graduate School application is tied to the School of Nursing's January 17th deadline. To apply for Autumn 2012 after the January deadline has passed, but before May 1, 2012, applicants should select Autumn 2013 on the online Graduate School application and include a letter requesting that the application be considered for Autumn 2012 in the packet of materials submitted to the School of Nursing. Please contact Jaime Jenkins at uwcipct@uw.edu for further details.
Q: Are CIPCT applicants required to take the GRE?
No. The GRE is not required for application to CIPCT.
Q: Are CIPCT applicants required to be RNs?
No. CIPCT is open to health professionals from all backgrounds, not just nursing. Language on the UW School of Nursing site that seems to require RN licensure only applies to students seeking a clinical research Master of Science (MS), not CIPCT students.
Q: Does the CIPCT program accept applicants for a Winter or Spring Quarter start?
No. CIPCT only admits one cohort per year, in the Autumn Quarter.
Q: I'm trying to submit a late application, but the Graduate School application won't allow me to select Autumn 2011.
This is due to the general UW School of Nursing deadline. You should submit an application for Autumn 2012 and include a letter with the materials submitted to the UW School of Nursing requesting to be considered for the Autumn 2011 cohort. UW School of Nursing staff can change your application to the appropriate year but only after receiving a written request from the applicant.
