Why Choose UW?

Top Ranked Schools:

The University of Washington's Clinical Informatics and Patient-Centered Technologies (CIPCT) Online Master of Science is offered in collaboration through the top-ranked Schools of Nursing and Medicine.

For more than 20 years, the UW School of Nursing has been ranked America's No. 1 nursing school, including 17 years atop the U.S. News & World Report list, which began ranking nursing schools in 1993.

The UW School of Medicine has been ranked #1 in the nation in primary-care training for the past 18 years by U.S. News & World Report.

Nationally Recognized Faculty:

Numerous faculty teaching and advising in the CIPCT program, including our Program Director Dr. George Demiris, are Fellows of the American College of Medical Informatics (FACMI), a honor awarded to only a few people each year for their significant and sustained contributions to the field of medical informatics.

As a CIPCT student, you will have the opportunity to learn from and work with leading researchers and practitioners from both Schools on coursework and projects.  Many students take advantage of this access to become involved in current research projects, even leading to publication and ongoing collaboration with our faculty.

Flexible Format:

The CIPCT program's online format allows students the flexibility to pursue a graduate degree in the field of clinical informatics without relocating or giving up current employment.

Coursework can be completed from anywhere in the US through online tools such as discussion boards, recorded lectures and web conferences.  Learn more about online learning here.
